I am a writer and baby boomer covering the re-entry of psychedelics into the mainstream– and the ways this movement will impact my generation as we age.
I believe that the growing availability of “legal,” facilitated and intentional psychedelic experiences could catalyze a new model of elderhood – where we spend less energy and resources avoiding death, and more on savoring the joys and opportunities this extraordinary stage of life offers us.
I encourage you to hear how I describe my vision in this interview for the Double Blind podcast.
I closely follow research on psychedelic-assisted therapy for end-of-life distress, expanding areas of legal access to psychedelics for “wellness” and spiritual exploration, and the growing role of chaplains and non-denominational spiritual leaders in supporting psychedelic experiences.
At this point, I am the only writer (to the best of my knowledge) specifically and consistently exploring issues related to psychedelics and older adults. My writing has been published in Forbes.com, Next Avenue, Double Blind and other publications.
I also speak on the topic of Psychedelics Towards the End of Life to professionals and others interested in innovative approaches to aging and end-of-life.
