A few weeks ago, I was contacted by the producers of Embodied, a radio show and podcast produced by the North Carolina Public Radio Station WUNC. They were interested in creating an episode on the topic of psychedelics and awe. While doing their research, they happened upon my last post, A Museum Dose of Awe. Not only did they find Awe – but they got Aging along with it …
I’ve been interviewed for podcasts before, but this time it felt like the big leagues – a trip to an actual recording studio with an on-site engineer. But what really felt strange was being on the receiving end of the questioning. For my book, ELDEREVOLUTION, Psychedelics and the New Counterculture of Aging, over the past eight months I’ve interviewed over thirty older adults about their psychedelic use. How humbling it felt to have the tables turned. Fortunately, the host, Anita Rao, was an excellent interviewer and the final product really reflects it.
The podcast came out today, and I’m delighted to share it with you! Here’s the link on Spotify, Youtube, and on the Embodied site (as of Friday, 1/10/25).
At this point, I’m cruising along with the writing, planning to meet my March deadline for submitting the manuscript of my book. After that, the real work begins!

Well done interview by you and Anita. Looking forward to reading your book and finding my path to participate in the Elderevolution!
